Six-time earth champion MC Mary Kom will spearhead a 14-member Indian boxing contingent in the Boxam Intercontinental tournament in Castellon, Spain from March 1 to 7. In accordance to a release issued by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), the Indian contingent still left for Spain in early hours on Sunday.
Apart from Mary Kom, the crew also has Commonwealth Games silver medallist Manish Kaushik (63kg). The duo are essential highlights of the Indian workforce as they are set to make a return to the ring for the 1st time since the Asian Olympic Qualifiers held in Jordan in March very last year.
The extremely-aggressive tournament will feature 19 nations with their Tokyo-bound boxers.
The Indian group will consist of eight males and 6 gals pugilists, which includes 9 Olympic competent boxers.
Younger boxer Jasmine, who was very-extraordinary throughout the countrywide camp, is also accompanying the boxers for her maiden senior tour. She will participate in the women’s 57kg group.
